What is your Service area?

Lavender Locksmith home turf is Manhattan; we accept scheduled service calls in all of Manhattan, near Brooklyn, Queens and The Bronx. We are routinely in the outer borough neighborhoods of Ditmas Park, Park Slope, Brooklyn Heights, LIC, Astoria and Riverdale. The exact service area for the outer boroughs is job dependent. We are happy to consider larger or contract opportunities further outside our usual service area. For emergency calls, to maintain a speedy response, we limit our service area to Manhattan, north of Houston Street.

How does your pricing work?

We do our best to maintain fair and transparent pricing. For this reason we quote and bill all work by the number of hours worked, billed to the next nearest 1/4 hour, plus parts and taxes. Our hourly rate is $135/hour per licensed locksmith and $80/hour per locksmith apprentice. There is an hour minimum on all work. We accept all forms of payment although certain types of payments may incur a processing fee of 3%. We are happy to provide a 5% discount for cash payments. Typically quoted jobs required a 50% deposit of the materials cost with the balance of the invoice due upon the completion of work. For emergency service, for new customers, we require credit card pre-authorization prior to departure or a 25% deposit with the balance due upon completion of work. Existing/known customers are not required to leave a pre-authorization/deposit for emergency service.

Do you make car Keys?

Currently we do not make car keys or work on cars in general. We have made a conscious decision to focus our business on residential and commercial service and have made our investments in the specialized tools necessary to provide those services. However,we are hopeful that, in the future, we can build out the capacity to offer car locksmithing.
