“Contacted Lavender Locksmith via Yelp and got a same-day response. Two other companies responded to me as well, and while they all gave me immediate or same-day response, I chose Lavender for several reasons: They are woman-owned, LGBTQ+ affirming (which is important to me as an ally and sexuality health educator working with adolescents in marginalized communities), are based in one of the communities I also serve and love, and their website mentioned they understood some of the negative experiences that as a woman, I have experienced in the past, being mansplained by locksmiths, car dealerships, and car repair shops, and being taken for a "ride" with the prices.
There are 3 locksmiths in my immediate area I could have gone to, but the mansplaining is real and I can no longer tolerate that. Lavender asked me to provide photos and a free quote was given to me via text. The price was comparable if not better than others I received.
When Lauren arrived, Lauren was prepared with all the tools and different kinds of locks for ME to choose from, explained in detailed and lay terms what the problems with my lock mechanism were.
I wanted a whole new lock mechanism. My door is old and gave her a little extra work, but she didn't complain, worked diligently and within an hour, I had a whole new lock mechanism beautifully in place no extra charge for the extra work it took.
The whole time, Lauren explained everything step-by-step, made me feel comfortable, and was friendly and respectful throughout. It was a completely different experience than I have had with other companies and I felt safe and respected the entire time. The price for an entire new Multi-Lock system was $300 and to my joy, Lauren took Zelle (yay!). There's a one-year warranty, and I got it all on paper. Lavender Locksmith is my new locksmith company and I will be sharing that with my friends and colleagues this week.”
